Our history

Starting with a simple retail shop, we worked over the past 100 years to become a successful medium-sized company and Hidden-champion. From the beginning, our commitment was to place the customer’s needs first and work together to prepare individual solutions that optimally fulfil customer requirements.

1920 Founding of a retail store in Hannover as the origin of pumpenboese GmbH & Co. KG
1936 Formation of Schönebecker BrunnenFilter (SBF, Schönebecker Well Screens) as a subsidiary of the company Preussag

1965 - 1988

1965-1988  Production expansion of pumpenboese GmbH & Co. KG:
Produktion von PVC-Brunnenfiltern und Handpumpen;
Production of PVC well screens and hand pumps; extrusion of PVC and PE pipes;
further processing of well screens und extension tubes; production of landfill dewatering and degassing pipes
1970s  SBF starts operation of the first fully automated production facility in Renchen

1965 - 1988

1965-1988: Production expansion of pumpenboese GmbH & Co. KG:
Production of PVC well screens and hand pumps; extrusion of PVC and PE pipes; 
Further processing of well screens und extension tubes;

1989 Purchase of former GDR companies in Luckau and Nordhausen;
Centralization of plastic products in Luckau and steel products in Nordhausen
1998 Merger of pumpenboese GmbH & Co. KG with PREUSSAG Wasser & Rohrtechnik GmbH to become the GWE Group
2001 Transfer of head office for GWE Group from Burgwedel to Peine

Centralization of plastic products in Luckau and steel products in Nordhausen
1998 Merger of pumpenboese GmbH & Co. KG with PREUSSAG Wasser & Rohrtechnik GmbH to become the GWE Group
2001 Transfer of head office for GWE Group from Burgwedel to Peine

2014 GWE HAGULIT® well materials become even more resistant with enhanced recipe

2007 Acquisition and transfer of all shares in the companies of the GWE Group by the BAUER Group into the newly founded segment BAUER Resources GmbH
