Project management

With passion and expertise our target is to ensure that your projects for water well construction and geothermal energy will be implemented successfully. Our commitment is to find the best technological and economically solutions for you. Here you can find a brief overview of various challenges and solutions.

Hand and solar pump projects Africa

The first hand pumps were sold in Sudan in 1984 – a success story takes its course! Over 37,000 pump systems have been sold since that time . In cooperation with various non-profit organizations and NGO`s , the water supply, particularly to villages in many arid regions of Africa, was improved sustainable.

Expansion of water supply Las Vegas, USA

Less water intake from Colorado river into Lake Meat at Las Vegas/NV draw down the water level of the lake. The storage reservoir is significant for the supply of hydroelectricity, potable water for Las Vegas and South-California also for farm irrigation of Arizona, Nevada and California. Some water intakes from former years felt dry. An additional low-water pump station was needful, GWE was significantly involved in the implementation for this project: Our engineers creates the design (using e.g. the Finite Elements Method modeling) of the riser pipes in (DN 800) and wellheads ⵁ 800 mm for a total of 32 pump stations. Material was manufactured and delivered by GWE to site.

Flood protection on the Rhine

Flood control has assumed an increasingly important role, in water well construction as well as flood protection. Particularly along rivers such as. the Upper Rhine or the Danube..., various flood control measures are becoming mandatory. GWE designed special adapted well systems, e.g. large dimensions (stainless steel wire-wrapped screens DN 1200), to provide a targeted reduction in groundwater levels in the event of a flood.

Water well construction Paulaner brewery

Since 1634, Paulaner Brewery has brewed at its historical Nockherberg location (Germany), which has established and explore to the limits. Based on that situation, Paulaner is investing in the new construction of the brewery in Langwied, Munich. Five new tertiary wells were specially drilled to extract brewing water and equipped with GWE well materials. They are designed for a capacity of 3.5 million hectoliters per year.

Deferrization well Germany

In cooperation with the energy supplier “enercity”, GWE installed an underground deferrization and demanganization plant. This was carried out in the immediate vicinity of five wells. For this technique, untreated water is fortified with oxygen from the air and infiltrated through the wells into the aquifer. After a rest and reaction phase water can be extracted largely free of iron and manganese.
